Southern California Section

The Southern California Section of ITS California represents a very active and diverse set of member organizations. Most of the activity of the section is focused on our bi-monthly luncheon meetings described below.

Luncheon Meetings
Events in this bi-monthly series focus on a particular theme or technology and examines the deployment of Intelligent Transportation Solutions in California and beyond. Meetings are typically very well attended by public agencies, private sector consultants and product vendors. Topics are selected to attract a broad audience of transportation professionals with interest in various facets of the ITS community. A luncheon panel, typically made up of four experts or program managers, provide presentations, and a sizeable Q&A section follows. Time is also allotted at each workshop for networking which provide a great opportunity to touch base with panel members and peers. In addition, AICP members now earn Certification Maintenance (CM) credits for attending these workshops. Anyone can attend, with non-ITS California members paying a slightly higher fee.

All-Day Workshops
Approximately once per year, the Southern California Section presents an all day workshop on a topic of heightened interest to the ITS community. These workshops are typically focused on those topics which cannot be adequately covered during a luncheon meeting. For example, the last workshop was on Congestion Pricing, with a 2011 workshop on Adaptive Traffic Control Systems. These all day workshops are also open to both members and non-members, with non-members paying a slightly higher fee.
